In an effort to overcome obstacles being met with in the PV industry, representatives from both mainland China and Taiwan have signed a letter of intent to further technology cooperation. The move, reported in the Taiwan News, will see the establishment of uniform product standards and an across-the-board system for cell testing and certification.
The agreement was signed by Taiwan Photovoltaic Industry Association Chairman C.W. Lan and Li Jungfeng, secretary general of the Chinese renewable energy
industry’s working commission. Representing the two regions, the representatives agreed to work together to improve product quality, lower production costs and tackle manufacturing issues using lessons learned from both regions’ experience in the PV manufacturing industry.
The signing of the agreement took place at the recent two-day cross-Taiwan Strait conference at the Taipei International Convention Center. The signing was attended by 671 representatives of the PV industry in both Taiwan and China.
