Andrew Chen to join Canadian Solar as new chief financial officer

Andrew Chen has been selected as the successor for the CFO position at Canadian Solar, while Arthur Chien, the company’s previous CFO, will continue with the company as special advisor to the CEO’s office until the end of this year. Chen comes from Shengda Tech where he was chief financial officer from April 2009 until September 2010. He also served as CFO to Trony Solar Holdings between September 2008 and March 2009. Chen’s appointment as CFO for Canadian Solar will begin immediately.

Chen started his professional career at Pricewaterhouse Cooper in 1996 and has served in several executive positions since. He was director of finance and CFO for YRC Worldwide China International Transportation from 2006 until 2007 and senior corporate auditor for Honeywell International from 2000 through 2006. He is a certified public accountant with a BA degree from Xiamen University, China and a holds a master’s degree in accountancy and an MBA in finance from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
