Balochistan government and CK Solar Korea ink MoU for 300MW solar project

The government of Balochistan and CK Solar Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a 300MW PV project near Quetta, Pakistan.

According to media reports, the MoU was confirmed by Pakistan’s provincial energy secretary Fuad Hashim Rabbani, who disclosed the information at a press conference.

Rabbani revealed that the project would require an investment of around US$900 million and will be developed by CK Solar Korea on a total of 607 hectares of leased land in the towns of Khuchlak and Pishin.

He added that the facility would also help Balochistan to meet the electricity demand in the province which has been suffering from a shortfall in electricity.

Furthermore, it would provide electricity to areas which rely on kerosene lamps as they lack a reliable electricity supply.
