    Odersun files for bankruptcy, seeks buyer through courts

    Reports have surfaced that Odersun has filed for bankruptcy and is seeking to find a buyer through the insolvency court using “self-administration” tactics. Law firm hww wienberg wilhelm advised that it has asked the board of directors to safeguard the interests of creditors and that coordination with the labour market and a pre-term financing payment of wages and salaries have begun.

    Dyesol announces leadership change, raises AUD$5 million through Share Purchase Plan

    Dyesol has announced that, effective immediately, Gavin Tulloch will no longer serve in the consultant role of director of technology, a position he has been responsible for since October 2010. Details surrounding the end of the engagement were not disclosed, however, Dyesol did note that Tulloch will remain a non-executive director of the company.

    Air Products has completed and brought onstream its hydrogen selenide (H2Se) facility expansion at its electronic specialty materials manufacturing facility in Hometown, PA, USA. The newly expanded high-purity H2Se facility will serve the growing demand from the CIGS market for the compound, which is provided by Air Products to semiconductor and PV customers at more than 99.99% purity levels.

    Powerway Renewable Energy has announced its collaboration with Dow Corning. Solar plant developer Powerway will co-operate with Dow Corning and use its silicone bonding technology in its PV mounting systems.

    Manz reports new orders of €40 million

    Manz has published figures from its 2011 financial results report, showing a healthy level of sales, revenues and business was booked by the company last year. In particular, the company secured new orders in the FPD and Li-Ion segments totalling in the region of €40 million, contributing to an overall 2011 revenue tally of €240.5 million – up from its autumn forecast of €220–230 million. Manz’s order backlog now stands at over €104 million.

    AQT Solar advised that its Sunnyvale production facility had transitioned to a fully automated WIP management system, run by Sapphire Automation’s Emerald software platform. AQT noted that it had partnered with Sapphire in order to improve its equipment utilization and planning in order to ramp up its technology development and deployment cycles.

    Bloomberg BusinessWeek has reported that R. Todd Neilson, a forensic accountant and former FBI special agent, has advised in a recent report filed with the US Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware, that Solyndra communicated truthful information about its finances to the government before it claimed bankruptcy last year.

    United Solar to supply 4.33MW of its PV laminates for Italian rooftop installation

    United Solar, a subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices, advised that it will be supplying 4.33MW of its Uni-Solar PV laminates for the Fiera di Rimini Trade Fair facility in Italy. The site’s current aluminum rooftop, which covers nearly 100,000sqm of exhibition area, will be replaced and have the Uni-Solar laminates bonded to the aluminum standing seam metal pans provided by United Solar’s business alliance partner, Iscom.
