Austrian PV project developer Activ Solar has commissioned its 29.3MW Voznesensk Solar Power Station located in the Mykolaiv region in Ukraine.

The PV facility is equipped with 121,176 multicrystalline PV modules and 27 inverters installed on a four-row mounting system covering almost 60 hectares of land. Under the current local content requirement regulation, the project utilises more than 15% Urkainian materials, technology and equipment.

The facility has the capabilities to produce around 35,000MWh of electricity every year. The project created more than 120 construction jobs and 20 full-time operation jobs.

Activ Solar already has solar parks in Ukraine, in Crimea and Odessa. The company believes that the Mykolaiv region offers high levels of solar radiation, but lacks adequate, local, clean energy generation. The region also provides large flat land plots with no agricultural value, which are ideal for solar installations.

“With our first utility project in the Mykolaiv region we are entering another interesting province in southern Ukraine. As Crimea and Odessa, Mykolaiv region offers favourable conditions for solar energy production.” says Kaveh Ertefai, CEO of Activ Solar.
