Headquartered in Riyadh, Alfanar’s energy division claims to be working on a 3GW pipeline. Its projects include a 50MW PV plant in Egypt – part of the government-sponsored Benban complex in Aswan – and grid-connected rooftop in Saudi Arabia.

In Bangladesh, news of the PV project come days after the Asian state reaped financial and policy support from the World Bank to bolster the industry.

The country is working towards a nation-wide 10% renewable generation target by 2021 and launched, in early February, a tender for 50-60MW in grid-connected projects in the Chattogram district.
