Tracking manufacturer Array Technologies (ATI) has installed four systems in California customised to withstand high wind speeds.

The projects, totalling 63MW of capacity, are all in the desert of Kern County, which the company claimed regularly experiences gusts in excess of 50 mph.

ATI’s engineering team worked with construction firm Swinerton to customise its DuraTrack HZ single-axis tracking system to withstand wind speeds in excess of 100 mph.

“We always enjoy working with Swinerton and hope to continue the partnership well into the future,” said Ron Corio, founder and CEO, ATI. “Their professionalism and dedication to efficiently completing high-quality solar projects always shines through on projects of this magnitude.”
