UK-based research group Cornwall Insight has projected that Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM) will add 150GW of solar PV, wind and energy storage capacity by 2043.
The results continue the downward trend in polysilicon manufacturers’ fortunes as the market faces oversupply, cutthroat competition and prices below the cost of production.
The Australian Electricity Market Operator (AEMO) has signalled that solar PV, energy storage and wind projects looking to connect to the National Electricity Market (NEM) at the end of Q3 2024 surpassed 45GW.
