CIS PV firm Odersun gets €10M in state loans; will use funds to push production ramp, market entry

German thin-film PV manufacturer Odersun has received state loan guarantees totaling €10 million from the Federal State of Brandenburg. The company said that the credit line will allow it to move forward on its production ramp and facilitate the market entry of its customized solar products.

Odersun is commissioning its 20MW capacity copper-indium-(di)sulfide (CIS) cell and module manufacturing facilities in Fürstenwalde/Spree and expects the four already-installed production lines to be fully operational by the end of the year.

The company also said it is working on a portfolio of customer-specific PV modules of special forms applicable for direct integration into buildings, with the initial projects employing the BIPV panels to be completed in 2011.

“The continuous commitment of our investors and the trust of the state government in the capability of our technology and strategic approach ensure a secure funding in the course of our company’s market entry,” said CEO Hein van der Zeeuw.
