Clenergy, a manufacturer of PV rooftop mounting systems, is supplying a customized version of its PV-ezRack SolarRoof mounting system for use in a 7MW rooftop PV project in Haikou on Hainan island in China.

Hainan benefits from good sun irradiation levels but it also suffers from several environmental challenges including typhoons and saltwater corrosion. Located on the coast, the project requires equipment which can withstand such adverse conditions.

As a result, Clenergy has optimised its PV-ezRack SolarRoof system to suit such conditions in addition to the specific configuration of the factory’s trapezoidal sheet roofs. The new bracket design addressed local wind load requirements and enabled the system to fit the trapezoidal sheets more precisely and firmly.

The SolarRoof mounting system is easy to install while the PV-ezRack SolarRoof’s patented rail, Z-module and splice kits eliminate the need for onsite cutting and welding.

Moreover, the material from which the mounting system is made of anodized aluminum and stainless steel, which ensure a high level of corrosion resistance and make it suitable for harsh environments like coastal areas.

“This customised mounting solution is cost-effective and reliable because it is an optimisation of our mature and popular product, the PV-ezRack SolarRoof system,” said Clenergy’s senior engineer Chen Yaping. “Thanks to the mounting products’ great compatibility and ease of installation, our optimized system accelerates installation, ensuring the project is completed on schedule. The product’s short delivery cycle is also an advantage.”

The mounting system has been designed to support the company’s framed polysilicon PV modules. The company has not revealed whether electricity generated from the modules will be for on-site consumption only or whether it will be fed into a grid.
