DEK brand to remain as ASM’s acquisition finalised

The DEK brand, including that of PV screen printing specialist, DEK Solar is to be retained as the acquisition of the company was completed, according to ASM subsidiary, ASM Pacific Technology (ASMPT).

Michael Brianda, former President of DEK remains in the company to head-up the newly formed Printing Solutions Division of ASMPT, which will also house DEK Solar’s operations.

“DEK Solar’s expertise in photovoltaic cell metallization and its presence in the solar industry extend the ASMPT reach into other important markets, opening possibilities for future collaboration and alternative energy technology innovation,” commented Günter Lauber, ASMPT SMT Solutions Segment CEO.

The Printing Solutions Division (DEK) and the Placement Solutions Division (SIPLACE) will form the SMT Solutions arm within ASMPT.
