ESA Renewables is taking solar guarantees one step further with the launch of their Solar Power Production Guarantee program, which promises specific monthly energy production for solar energy systems under an ESA O&M agreement. If the system fails to meet ESA’s annual guaranteed power production levels, the company will compensate the solar project’s owners for the difference between guaranteed and actual energy generated.

“ESA is the only company to offer a solar power production guarantee of this type,” said Jeffrey Burkett, president of ESA Renewables. “We stand behind our solar energy projections whether or not we constructed or commissioned the solar farm.” Under the program, once the asset manager contracts with ESA for O&M, engineers will visit the solar site and perform an audit and analysis. Evaluating current and historic data, including energy production levels, panel and inverter compatibility ratios, high efficiencies, the tilt of panels and weather variants, ESA will make projections for future production levels and guarantee that rate on return.

Once the company finishes its audit, it will make any needed system upgrades and install its monitoring system. ESA will chart projected and productions levels and implement a guarantee with the facility owners to meet the expectations set forth. If, for any reason, the system does not meet the projected levels, ESA will compensate the plant owners for the difference between the two numbers based on a set cost per kWh.
