GET’s wafer sales jump 12.3% on higher ASPs and tight supply

Taiwan-based solar wafer producer Green Energy Technology (GET) reported a significant leap in sales for the month of January on the back of higher prices due to industry supply constraints. 

GET reported January, 2016 sales of NT$ 1,720 million (US$52.04 million), up 12.3% on the prior month and up 11.9% on the prior year.

Utilisation rates have remained above 95% and the company noted that it expected keep capacity utilisation rates above 95% during the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays due to continued strong demand. 

The company also reiterated its search for outsourcing partners to boost capacity.
