Germany-based PV developer IBC Solar is planning to complete 80MW of solar projects in its home country this year.

Just over half of the capacity is accounted for by projects to be installed by the end of August in commercial and industrial areas. The rest of the capacity includes projects from the first round of Germany’s PV auction in April.

Germany's Federal Network Agency has advertised 1.2GW of PV projects in open spaces and planned a further 300MW PV projects on former landfill sites over the next three years.

An IBC statement said: “The market for large-scale PV projects in Germany will be determined in the future mainly by the new tender procedure.”

The firm will participate in the auctions as a bidder for its own projects, as well as offering turnkey plant construction as general contractor.

IBC SOLAR won projects totalling 11MW in the previous two bidding rounds from the Federal Network Agency in April and in August.
