IEEE PV Specialist Conference reveals speakers for Hawaii venue

IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference’s organizing committee announced the speakers for the 35th PV gathering on June 20 through 25. Located at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, the convention will hold panel discussions and presentations during the five day symposium.

“Hawaii provides the ideal backdrop for a gathering of photovoltaics experts as our state pushes forward on our path to create 70 percent clean energy by 2030 through the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative,” said Lt. Governor James R. “Duke” Aiona, Jr. “Hawaii welcomes PV’s top minds to our state and is pleased to set the stage for breakthrough photovoltaic research discussions and presentations.”

June 22 will not only be Public Day at the conference, where local high schools will compete in a solar science fair, but the day will also see a panel discussion about the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative. Speakers will include, Hon. Hermina Morita, Hon. Carlito Caliboso, Scott Seu and Mark Duda.

Additionally, the PV Specialists Conference will have an in-depth technical program with 930 presentations. Speakers from all ten technical areas will include James R. “Duke” Aiona Jr., Rhone Resch – President of SEIA, John Lushetsky – Manager of the US Department of Energy’s SETP program, James Edmonds from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory,  Kris Bertness from the National Institute of Standards and Technology and Gregory L. Rorrer from the National Science Foundation.
