Sungrow has announced a partnership with JCM Power, InfraCo Africa, RINA and Innovate UK to construct Malawi’s first utility-scale solar-plus-storage project. Located in the Dedza district, near the town of Golomoti, the 20MWac solar PV and 5MW/10MWh energy storage project is set to become a leading example in sub-Saharan Africa of the value of solar PV coupled with energy storage.

JinkoSolar has announced that it has been recognised for the best HR strategy of the year at India’s 2021 Energy HR Summit, for the company’s outstanding HR performance during the past year’s challenging times. Ginlong Technologies (Solis) has published its 2020 annual report, showing that company revenue reached USD 321.6 million, an increase of 83% year-on-year. Net profit attributable to shareholders was USD 48.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 151%. Net profit after the deduction of extraordinary items was USD 43.1 million, +130% year-on-year, with net cash flow from operating activities USD 56.3 million, +154% on 2019.

LONGi has once again received recognition at the 2021 edition of the TÜV Rheinland “All Quality Matters” Solar Congress, with its Hi-MO 4 and Hi-MO 5 high-efficiency modules winning awards for PV Module Outdoor Energy Yield (Monofacial Group) and PV Module Energy Yield Simulation (Bifacial monocrystalline group) respectively.

Sungrow has announced the signing of a contract to supply inverters for the 200MW Kom Ombo project in Egypt, following an agreement between ACWA Power and the EPC contractor Sterling and Wilson. The project will be the country’s largest privately developed utility-scale solar plant and will increase the share of renewable energy in Egypt’s energy mix in line with national targets.

KSTAR has announced the completion of a 600kwp rooftop PV project equipped with its KSG-120CL string inverters at the premises of Lekok Paper in the city of Melaka, the latest in a long line of projects in Malaysia for which the company has supplied string inverters in recent years.

Testing at the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) in Hamelin, Germany, has confirmed that the conversion efficiency of N-type monocrystalline bifacial TOPCon cells developed at LONGi’s Cell R&D Center has reached 25.09%, the first time that the efficiency of a TOPCon cell based on a commercial size silicon wafer has exceeded 25%.
