The facility forms part of Inox Solar Americas’ strategy to establish a vertically integrated US solar manufacturing platform, complementing its existing domestic PV module manufacturing capabilities with local cell production.

Once operational, the plant will manufacture advanced Galaxion monocrystalline PV cells, which will be integrated with the company’s US-manufactured Gamma Series monofacial and Vega Series bifacial modules.

“Our continued progress on US PV cell manufacturing represents an important step in building a more integrated and resilient domestic solar supply chain,” said Ashok Nair, president & CEO of Inox Solar Americas. “By bringing advanced cell technology, high-performance module manufacturing, and rigorous quality control together within our US manufacturing platform, we are strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable supply and the bankability required for their project pipelines.”

The company said the integrated manufacturing platform will incorporate automated production, precision cell processing, inspection and testing, process controls and production traceability to support product quality and performance.

The addition of domestic cell production is expected to give the company greater control over manufacturing and sourcing across the PV supply chain, while strengthening supply continuity for US solar projects.

Inox Solar Americas said the facility would further expand its capacity to serve large-scale, multiyear customer requirements, with an emphasis on manufacturing scale, product quality, compliance readiness and supply reliability.

The company has not disclosed the investment value or the specific production technology parameters for the Greenville facility.

Speaking to PV Tech Premium, the company’s executive director, Devansh Jain, said Inox views its manufacturing operations in India and the US as separate regional strategies designed to serve their respective domestic markets (subscription required).

“India makes in India for India. America makes in America for America,” Jain said, outlining the company’s approach to developing manufacturing capacity around local demand rather than treating the two markets as competing supply chains.

Jain identified TOPCon as the company’s primary technology choice; however, Inox Solar Americas has not disclosed the specific cell technology planned for its Greenville facility.

Inox Solar Americas acquired Boviet Solar’s US manufacturing assets in Greenville, North Carolina, comprising 3GW of annual PV module manufacturing capacity and the under-construction 3GW solar cell facility. The acquisition forms part of the group’s strategy to expand local manufacturing and strengthen the US solar supply chain.

The company manufactures monocrystalline solar cells and Gamma Series monofacial and Vega Series bifacial modules for residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications.
