Intersolar EU: AUO expands its European presence and PV module portfolio

Au Optronics (AUO) announced that it is working on strengthening its presence in the European solar market by working with its partners in Germany, Italy, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and the UK, while simultaneously focusing on escalating its business in the Middle East and Asian solar markets. As the company gets ready for its exhibition at Intersolar Europe June 8 through June 10, it advised that its latest 2MW ground-mounted project in Viglas, Slovakia would be using AUO’s EcoDuo PM220P00 module, which will be on display at the convention.

“We have the world's highest efficiency solar value chain with SunPower and M.Setek and are pleased to have been selected as the primary module supplier for many power plants in Europe, to support our customers to secure energy from renewable resources,” said James Chen, VP of AUO Solar Business Group. “With a solar module plant in the Czech Republic, AUO is able to provide made-in-Europe products, on-time delivery and stable products to the European customers. We look forward to working with our European partners to offer clients high-value and reliable service.”

The company also revealed its plans for the high-end European market with its new GreenTriplex PM250M00 PV module. The module boasts and all black appearance, three busbar cell design and self-cleaning function. AUO noted that its GreenTriplex module is used in AC PV technology, where the integrated microinverter converts the module’s DC power to a grid complaint AC power. According to the company, this allows for an improved performance by up to 25% over traditional PV systems. Additionally, the GreenTriplex module is said decrease the design and installation time by including features such as a straight-out-of-the-box installation, scalable cabling design and continuous grounding.

AUO will be exhibiting at Intersolar Europe at Booth B3.180.
