Korean conglomerate, LG, has merged its Solar, Lighting and Energy Storage System (ESS) business units into a new ‘Energy Business Center’ in an effort to boost its competitiveness.
The realignment of LG’s solar operations is part of a major business unit reshuffle across the company.

The company said that its executive vice president, Sang-bong Lee, would lead the LG Energy Business Center.
LG's chief technology officer Dr. Scott Ahn will take on the additional role of head of LG's Innovation Business Center, with a brief to identify and develop new business areas based on future technologies.
