In collaboration with the SUNY NanoCollege and U.S. Photovoltaic Manufacturing Consortium, flexible CIGS thin-film start-up, Magnolia Solar has claimed it has demonstrated a solar cell with a conversion efficiency of 13%. The company did not state aperture area dimensions.
Magnolia Solar said that is was also making progress on improving the CIGS solar cells and nano-structured anti-reflective (AR) coating technology, which employs an AR coating useing oblique angle nano-structure growth, that is claimed to enhance energy absorption and minimizing reflection loss.
