Michael Buscher appointed CEO of Oerlikon: effective May 2010

The board of directors at Oerlikon has appointed Michael Buscher as its new CEO. Hans Ziegler will continue in his role as delegate of the board until Buscher joins Oerlikon in May 2010.

Buscher’s selection for the executive role followed a search by the company’s board of directors for suitable candidates. Ziegler and Buscher will be working closely together to ensure a smooth transition in the company’s leadership.

Buscher holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany.
