Hevel commissions 60MW solar plant in Astrakhan, Russia

Russia-based firm Hevel Group has commissioned a 60MW solar PV project in the Akhtuba district of the Astrakhan region.

The Akhtubinskaya SES project started supplying power to the grid today and the total estimated annual electricity generation will be 110GWh.

Hevel has an operational capacity of 135MW in the region having already built and put into operation projects in the Privolzhsky district, including the 15MW Niva solar power station, as well as the 60MW Funtovskaya SES project.

Hevel obtained the building rights through the acquisition of a portfolio of solar projects in the summer of 2017.

Earlier this month, Hevel Group made strides towards a scale-up in Russia and Kazakhstan, securing a deal to build in the former country and financing for projects in the latter.
