SirajPower to build 2.1MW rooftop plant for Landmark Group’s Dubai warehouse

11 June: Dubai-based rooftop solar joint venture SirajPower has signed a leasing contract for a 2.1MW rooftop PV project with Landmark Group, one of the biggest multinational conglomerates and retailers in the region.

Under this new partnership, SirajPower will carry out permitting, design, installation, commission and operation of Landmark Group’s new solar system to Landmark’s Group warehouse facility located in Dubai South, over a period of 20 years.

David Auriau, Director at SirajPower said: “We are encouraged to see more and more UAE businesses recognizing the importance and need to adopt renewable sources of energy, and especially solar power as it remains [the] highest value in the region due to the high solar radiation.”

Solar Steel provides 10MW mounts for Colombia solar project

7 June: Solar Steel, a division of Gonvarri Steel Services, is supplying another 10MW of its RackSmarT Fixed Structure mounts for a solar project in Bolivar Department, Medellin, Colombia.

Uttar Pradesh EoI for 100MW solar canals

25 May: The Irrigation and Water Resources Department of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for 100MW of grid-connected solar projects to be installed on canals.

50MW shall be set up at Narainpur Pump Canal, Mirzapur District, with another 30MW at Augasi Pump Canal, in Banda, and a final 20MW at LGC and PLGC Narora, in Bulandsahar.
