Sungrow supplying inverters and storage to GRIDSERVE’s pioneering PV-plus-storage project in UK

Major China-based PV inverter manufacturer Sungrow Power Supply Co has confirmed that it was selected by GRIDSERVE to provide specially adapted central inverters and ESS (energy storage systems) to a subsidy-free 34.7 MW PV park being built in Hull, UK for Warrington Borough Council.

Sungrow said that it would be supplying its 1500 Volt turnkey central inverter stations, SG3125HV-MV to the project, specifically modified for the energy storage systems, which include a 27MW/30MWh of storage via its standard 2.5 MW-1 Hour ESS system to the project.

The flexibility of the storage system is designed to provide a range of grid services such as frequency response, grid balancing and reserve capacity which enhances the overall solar-plus-storage project benefits.
