Leading solar tracking company NEXTracker said it had achieved 100% on-time delivery for Enel Green Power’s 754MW PV power plant in Mexico, which has deployed its  Gen2 ‘NX Horizon’ self-powered tracker system.

Having expanded its manufacturing footprint in Mexico, NEXTracker noted that it achieved on-time delivery of 26,000 piers and 1,624 miles of torque tubes to the Villanueva solar power plant.  This meant that EPC firm Swinerton was able to install the systems at a rate of 100MW per month and was said to have been nine months ahead of schedule after it began generating and selling electricity in December 2017.

“This announcement demonstrates NEXTracker's ability to massively scale and innovate with our customers in new markets, of which Mexico is especially promising,” said Dan Shugar, NEXTracker CEO. “Our installation partner, Swinerton Renewable Energy, has been instrumental in supporting array construction. Together with SRE and regional manufacturing, we have been able to accelerate the deployment of this plant. We are honored to promote the growth of the renewable energy industry in Mexico.”

The Villanueva plant was also said to be featuring advanced data connectivity, enabled by NEXTracker's recently developed SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.

This data hub communicates bi-directionally with Flex's cyber-secure SmartNexus platform for control and data collection and management capabilities, designed to enhance component operations and accelerate commissioning by automating tracker configuration steps.
