Enel Green Power Australia, the Australia-based renewables arm of Italian energy company Enel, has signed a binding agreement with minerals company QEM to purchase a 1GW solar and wind project.
The modules are based on 3Sun's CORE-H technology and will be commercially available in 2024. They are produced at the Enel Green Power subsidiary's factory in Catania, Italy.
Enel Green Power’s Sicilian subsidiary 3Sun has developed a 9cm squared silicon-perovskite tandem PV cell in partnership with the French national institute of solar energy (INES) and the CEA, a French government-funded research institution.
Enel Green Power’s 170MW PV plant in Tarquinia, which is integrated with medicinal herb, olive oil and livestock feed production, will also support biodiversity with borage used to attract bees.
