UPDATE: Oral hearing on India’s solar anti-dumping investigation delayed to 12 December

UPDATED: An oral hearing on India’s anti-dumping investigation into imports of solar cells and modules from China, Taiwan and Malaysia has been postponed to 12 December.

The Directorate General of Anti-Dumping & Allied Duties (DGAD) has issued a notification to the domestic industry and other parties and said that it will be chaired by Sunil Kumar, IAS, additional secretary and designated authority, in New Delhi.

Consultancy firm Bridge to India’s latest report said that If India’s anti-dumping duty petition results in the introduction of trade barriers without other policy level reforms, it will fail to achieve its original goal of supporting domestic manufacturers. Nevertheless many people in the industry expect some form of duty to be brought in.

A local Indian manufacturer at PV ModuleTech 2017 said that he was expecting a tariff to come in above U$0.10.
