PV project developer, Strata Solar has secured a 160MW module supply deal with China-based BYD that includes the supply of batteries that will be used with some its utility-scale projects planned for 2014.
Strata Solar said that it expected to complete 30 PV projects totalling nearly 200MW in 2013, with plans that could see its pipeline for 2014 double to between 300MW to 400MW. The company said that its overall project pipeline stood at 1.5GW.

BYD and Strata will also work together to implement BYD’s battery technology into an unspecified number PV projects in order to maximize production and efficiencies, according to the company.
Chuanfu Wang, chairman of BYD said, “Strata and BYD have been working on a series of interesting models for the utilization of BYD storage solutions in several upcoming Strata projects which we are very excited to be a participating in.”
