The companies agreed to co-develop solar projects after a wider tie-up in 2011. In 2012 they announced a 30MW pipeline. Earlier this year they announced cooperation on a 11.1MW site in Kumamoto prefecture.

Ownership of the latest site will be split 70:30 in ORIX’s favour.

The pair are also part of a consortium said to be considering a 430MW island-based PV plant.
