At this week's Solar Power International Exposition in Dallas, several companies will be showcasing their off-grid PV product ranges. Among them will be OutBack Power Technologies, which will demonstrate their off-grid power conversion components. These new components will help transform solar-generated electricity into useable power for residential and commercial installations by enabling integrators to design smarter and more flexible systems – especially in the rapidly-growing, grid-interactive category (systems capable of both grid-tied and off-grid operation).

OutBack general manager Harvey Wilkinson said, “Our products debuting at Solar Power International provide the integrated system storage and management solutions they’ll need to grow their businesses.”

In other off-grid news, Ameresco Solar, has reached an agreement to provide BP Solar International’s small area module (SAM) line of solar panels that range from 5W to 180W under the Ameresco Solar brand.

“Ameresco Solar and BP Solar have observed a strong demand for these small, rugged panels, and many companies have come to rely on these modules for existing products and applications,” said Colin Gates, vice president, Ameresco Solar. “These modules have been offered by BP Solar for over 25 years, delivering consistent footprints, certifications, and approvals that are important to the off-grid solar industry. Without them, there would be a large void for customers.”

Solar Power International runs from October 17-20 at the Dallas Convention Center and OutBack Power Technologies will be at Booth 701.
