Petra Solar has been concentrating on taking its business to a more international level and as part of its initiative the company has planned to open a research and development center in Amman, Jordan. Petra Solar has been working with companies based in the Middle East and expects for its new R&D center to more easily facilitate a partnership with companies in the region.

Last spring, Dr. Shihab Kuran, president and CEO of Petra Solar, met with King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan to partner with the Jordanian government on the creation of green jobs and economic development in the country. In addition to fostering the creation of more jobs in Jordan, Petra Solar is looking for this new facility to also help introduce its Smart Grid technology to a more international market.
