Project Focus: North Star Solar signs PPA with PG&E

North Star Solar, the wholly owned affiliate of NorthLight Power – the joint-venture between REC and the Summit Power Group – has signed a 60MW solar power purchase agreement with Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E). NorthLight Power will act as project developer of the project, which will be located in Mendota, Fresno County, California.

The project, which is expected to utilize REC modules, is subject to approval by the California Public Utilities Commission, completion of CAISO interconnection studies, and receipt of certain environmental and other permits related to the site in Fresno County. NorthLight Power must also secure external equity and debt financing for the project on behalf of North Star Solar. NorthLight Power is currently working to select an EPC provider for the project.
