Bloomberg is reporting the Energy Conversion Devices (ECD) has struck a deal with Baraclit, an Italian building-material company, which will integrate ECD’s solar products into its roofing materials. No details on compensation or the amount of materials to be supplied were revealed.
According to ECD, Baraclit will potentially install the solar-powered “flat roof” system on as many as 108 million square feet of its industrial rooftops. The news from ECD follows the company’s February 14 filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and current quest to sell its United Solar unit.
