Sempra Generation has officially opened its 48MW Copper Mountain Solar project in Boulder City, Nevada. The company also announced its recently-approved plans to expand the plant by 200MW.
Copper Mountain has been operational since Decmber 2010, when building work was completed. The power generated has been sold to Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) under separate 20-year power purchase agreements.
