Inverter manufacturer, SolarMax, has installed 388 of its string inverters at the 6MW Neuenbrook solar park in Germany.

German renewable energy developer, Actensys and SolarMax, the inverter brand of Sputnik Engineering, completed the solar park in Kremper Heide near Hamburg, North Germany in December last year.

The solar park spans 11.4 hectares and is expected to supply energy to 1,400 households.

The Neuenbrook solar park is installed with 388 of SolarMax’s 15MT2 inverters, along with more than 22,600 solar panels. The park is estimated to generate an 5,670.8MWh a year.

The developers chose to use string inverters, rather than the conventional method for similar sized solar parks, of using one or a few central inverters. The strategy of installing many string inverters instead is to aid in guaranteeing the estimated yearly yield, according to SolarMax. By using string inverters, fewer modules would be affected by adverse conditions, insuring higher energy yield – string inverters are also easier and quicker to replace, said SolarMax.

“All components are geared to each other ideally and form a perfect symbiosis,” says Mathias Mader, managing director of Actensys.
