Solar Rainbow Services and Carlisle Energy Services have joined forces to install a 2.3MW rooftop PV system on Jordache Enterprises’ New Jersey distribution center and warehouse. Work on the project, which is to be split into two stages, will begin this spring and finish by the start of summer.

The 400,000 square feet of United Solar thin film building-integrated laminates that will adorn the rooftops will generate around 1,430MWh of electricity annually. And in preparation for this installation, Solar Rainbow has bought a roofing company oversee the re-roofing of the distribution center and warehouse.

“The most difficult obstacle to selling a solar system is educating the customer,” said Solar Bawabeh, president and co-founder of Solar Rainbow. “Once they realise that they can protect the environment while getting a great return on investment, they begin to move forward. Companies can take advantage of the 100% bonus depreciation of the system cost in the first year, as well as, a 30% Federal Cash Grant. Additionally, there is also an income stream of SRECS and Electricity savings.”
