Sopogy’s Concentrating Solar Collectors have received OG-100 classification from the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC). The certification qualifies Sopogy’s collectors for solar programmes in a number of US states and validates the performance of Sopogy’s collector technology.

The SRCC is the US’s independent accreditor for solar thermal products and Sopogy’s MicroCSP collector passed all of the third-party laboratory and outdoor tests; it was awarded the OG-100 certification after meeting all durability, safety and thermal performance requirements.

“The SRCC rating enables applications where Sopogy’s technologies are installed to qualify for numerous state solar programmes and validates the performance of Sopogy’s collector technology,” Sopogy’s CEO and president, Darren Kimura, said. “The SRCC certification confirms that Sopogy’s MicroCSP collectors are built to international standards of excellence, an important factor for clients considering an investment in concentrating solar power.”

At present, Sopogy’s MicroCSP collectors are generating utility-scale solar power, air conditioning and process heat at 18 installations around the world. At just under 80kg, Sopogy’s collector is the lightest of all SRCC certified concentrating collectors and with an efficiency factor is 0.5897 it is also the highest SRCC-rated MicroCSP collector.
