Stion was previously awarded a Tier 1 grant in February 2011, which it used to bring its proprietary technology into commercial prototype stage and produced tandem junction prototype modules at 18.8% aperture efficiency.
Stion is one of ten small companies receiving a share of the US$10 million available under the Incubator 7 Program. The initiative is aimed at helping start-up businesses speed up the development of innovative solar technologies for the marketplace.
