US solar manufacturer T1 Energy has signed new offtake agreements covering more than 1.58GW of solar modules, including modules incorporating domestically produced solar cells from its under-construction G2_Austin manufacturing facility in Texas.
The agreements, including contracts with subsidiaries of independent power producer (IPP) Avantus, will see T1 supply tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) modules from its 5GW G1_Dallas solar module assembly plant in 2027 and 2028.

The modules are expected to use a combination of imported solar cells and domestically manufactured cells from G2_Austin. With the latest agreements, T1 has secured contracts covering more than 4GW of its 2027 module manufacturing capacity.
“TOPCon is one of the most advanced crystalline-silicon module technologies in commercial production today,” said T1’s chairman and CEO Dan Barcelo. “America’s AI infrastructure and energy grid need high-efficiency modules—and we’re building them here, in Texas.”
T1 began construction of G2_Austin, located in Rockdale, Texas, in December 2025. The first phase, with 2.1GW of annual cell manufacturing capacity, is expected to begin production in the first quarter of 2027.
The company expects to offer solar modules with more than 60% domestic content in 2027 as production from the new cell facility ramps up.
The latest agreements form part of T1’s strategy to develop a traceable, US-based solar supply chain. The company said its integrated manufacturing operations are intended to help customers manage project schedules, financing and returns.
T1’s modules use TOPCon solar cell technology. In July, the company announced the acquisition of foundational TOPCon solar patents and other intellectual property, as part of its efforts to bring key solar technology and manufacturing capabilities under domestic ownership.
In August 2026, T1 reported net sales of US$250.1 million for the second quarter of 2026. According to the manufacturer, T1 produced 935MW of modules at its G1_Dallas facility during the quarter, while reporting a net loss from continuing operations of US$36.9 million and adjusted EBITDA of US$10.7 million.
