Every village in India now has some form of access to electricity whether it be through an on or off-grid solution, according to prime minister Narendra Modi, however, there are still millions of households across India, both urban and rural, without access to electricity.
India has sanctioned the benchmark costs for grid-connected rooftop and small-scale solar PV plants for 2017/18, according to a Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) release.
More than 16,000 Indian households across 800 remote villages will be given a solar panel, with an eight-hour battery storage backup, according to the Indian minister for power, coal, new and renewable energy and mines, Piyush Goyal.
