Dutch company and owner of IKEA Ingka Group’s investment arm Ingka Investments has acquired a 49% share of a 460MWp solar PV portfolio from energy company Avapa Energy.
German-headquartered solar developer Enerparc has sold 193MW worth of its Australian solar PV assets to Ingka Group, the owner of furniture retailer IKEA.
IKEA owner Ingka Group has invested €340 million (US$370.84 million) in 440MW of solar PV projects in Germany and Spain, to be built by developer Enerparc.
Ingka Group, a retailer that runs the majority of IKEA stores, has allocated an additional €4 billion (US$4.8 billion) to invest in solar and wind plants.
