Spain’s Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda has announced that the country’s 2-3GW renewable energy auction will take place on 17 May, following the approval of the final two Resolutions to carry out the tender.

Brazil has cancelled its only reserve energy auction for wind and solar in 2016, due to an expected power oversupply in the country, according to a Reuters report.

Brazil's energy regulator ANEEL has finalised details of the 2nd Reserve Energy Auction to be held on 16 December this year, with the initial price for solar set at BRL320/MWh (US$94.36).

Brazil’s energy agency EPE has registered 1,260 wind and solar projects for its 2nd Reserve Energy Auction 2016 to be held on 16 December, the only solar auction in Brazil this year.

Solar has been removed from participating in Brazil’s first renewables auction this year while the second auction has been delayed to 16 December.

Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy is to postpone its first reserve energy auction from its scheduling for 29 July.
