Ségolène Royal, France’s minister of the Environment, Energy and the Sea, yesterday announced the winners of the first period of the country’s rooftop solar tender.
French energy minister Ségolène Royal has signed a decree establishing an energy programme (PPE) for French Guiana, that aims to use solar, biomass and hydro to reach 85% renewables generation by 2023.
France has awarded contracts to 79 projects in the first 500MW tender of its 3GW large-scale programme, as well as announcing tender programmes for 450MW of self-consumption renewable energy systems and 210MW of 'solar innovations' including solar roads.
