Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for selection (RfS) for 7.5GW of grid-connected solar PV projects, including implementation of power transmission and evacuation infrastructure, in the Leh and Kargil districts of Jammu & Kashmir state.
UK investor Downing, working with its investment partner Armstrong Energy Global, has developed and constructed 20MW of ‘open access’ solar projects in the South Indian states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
India-based renewable energy company Suzlon Group has commissioned 340MW of solar projects across Telangana (210MW), Rajasthan (60MW DCR category) and Maharashtra (70MW).
While India will hit 20GW of installed solar PV capacity this year, its annual deployment is expected to slow down to 5GW, according to consultancy firm Bridge to India, which released its latest ‘India Solar Map 2017’ today.
