‘Silicon Module Super League’ (SMSL) member Trina Solar has secured the second largest order for bifacial modules, according to PV Tech’s analysis. The shipment occurred in April 2017 and is Trina Solar's first order for its bifacial modules.

The deal that will take Trina Solar private has been completed, the company has announced.

Three major Chinese PV manufacturers, Longi Silicon Materials, Trina Solar and Tongwei, via its polysilicon subsidiary, Sichuan Yongxiang, are to form a Joint Venture (JV) to own and operate a previously planned 5GW monocrystalline silicon ingot pulling production plant in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, China, by Longi.
