Soltecture has produced the first 100W thin-film modules from its Berlin Adlershof manufacturing line.

The modules have an efficiency of 13.4% and Soltecture CEO Nikolaus Meyer believes their launch is an important step in its long-term target of achieving 16% efficiency. “With our development work, we are on the best track to reaching the next milestone we have set for ourselves: 14% efficiency,” Meyer said. “We will reach that by mid-2012 at the latest.

“We will, of course, continue to increase the efficiency of our modules. Our research department continues to work full speed on optimization of the manufacturing process. The concrete projects needed to reach a 16% goal have already been tackled and drafted.”

Soltecture’s modules have also received ISO 9001 certification from DQS. The ‘Made in Germany’ guarantee provided by the certification endorses Soltecture’s production and service standards, and, in turn, module quality.

“We will use the guidelines of the certification to continuously improve our products and solutions and to streamline business processes throughout the entire company,” Henrik Kruepper, Soltecture’s chief sales officer, said. “In this way, we will remain adaptive and able to offer the highest degree of service to our clients.”
