Tom Gutierrez was elected as president, chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors for GT Solar. He follows Tom Zarrella who served in the same positions for GT since 2007. The management changes became effective October 28.

He has a strong technology background and proven track record of leadership in senior executive roles in large successful enterprises, developing and selling technologically sophisticated products worldwide. We are delighted to have Tom Gutierrez on board.”
Gutierrez brings experience as a CEO for private and public companies to his position at GT. He served as CEO for Invensys Power Systems between 1998 and 2001 while his most recent position saw him as the CEO of Xerium Technologies from 2001 to 2008. Along with his CEO experience, Gutierrez has an international background. He launched and led organizations in Asia, Europe and throughout the US. His past managerial positions saw him at Pulse Engineering, Pitney Bowes and Motorola and he sits on the board for Verso Paper and Comverge. He received his BS in electrical engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
