Global logistics company FedEx Express has unveiled plans to build a rooftop PV system on its distribution hub in Newark, New Jersey, US.
The 8,684-module plant would be the eighth solar facility the company operates on its premises around the world, and the largest.

The plant will cover the rooftops of the three FedEx buildings that form the company’s New Jersey premises and generate 2.4 million kWh of power, enough to supply 15% of the hub’s needs.
Mitch Jackson, Vice President Environmental Affairs and Sustainability at parent company FedEx Corp, said: “Deploying solar technologies such as these at our facilities helps us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our operations while providing more sustainable options for our customers.”
