GCube Insurance names John McLane as president

John McLane has accepted the president position with GCube Insurance Services, a worldwide insurance provider for the renewable energy arena. McLane was named one of the top five energy insurance brokers in the U.S. by Risk & Insurance Magazine in 2006 and will rely on his 30-year background in insurance and risk financing programs for utility scale renewable energy projects to guide him in his new position.

McLane joins GCube after working with two regional brokerage firms that focus on renewable energy and clean technology companies. He also served as the power and utility practice leader at Marsh and was the  chair of the Global Steering Committee.

Based out of GCube’s New York office, McLane will represent the company as a member of ACORE’s Leadership Council and associate member of the Edison Electrical Institute. McLane completed seven years in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Program and graduated with a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. He is an active member of the Society of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters.
