JA Solar provides mono PERC modules to largest rooftop project in MENA region

20 August: Silicon Module Super League (SMSL) member JA Solar has supplied 3.2MW of mono PERC modules for a solar plant of international express, mail delivery and logistics services company, Aramex. It is said to be the largest single-rooftop solar project in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to date.

Located in Dubai Logistics City, the rooftop project was constructed on a turnkey basis by IMG Solar FZE, a subsidiary of Izzat Marji Group in Jordan.

The rooftop solar project is expected to generate 5 million kWh of electricity per year, accounting for 60% of the electricity needs of Aramex's facility.

B.Grimm approves 70MW of rooftop projects

10 August: The Board of directors of Thai power firm B.Grimm Power has approved plans for 70MW of rooftop solar projects via its subsidiary B.Grimm Solar Power Rooftop Company Limited.

These projects will be developed in partnership with S.Napa (Thailand).

EPC services will be carried out by Energy China (Thailand).

IBC Solar Turkey commissions 1MW PV plant for Turkish textile manufacturer

20 August: The Turkish subsidiary of Germany-based solar and storage firm IBC Solar has commissioned a turnkey solar energy project with a total capacity of 1.161MWp in Merkez near the Bulgarian border.

The ground-mounted plant has already been handed over to Edirne Giyim Sanayi, a leading textile company in Turkey.

The PV plant was built for the company's own electricity consumption and can cover 70% of its energy demand.
